“First,” the official documentary of the London Olympics, is worth seeing

Centennial’s Missy Franklin and gymnast John Orozco, who trains at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, are two of the 12 first-time Olympians featured in “First,” the official documentary of the London Olympics.

The film will be shown Thursday night in a one-night engagement at theaters across the U.S, including eight in the Denver-Boulder area. The film begins at 7:30 p.m.

Also featured are David Rudisha of Kenya, who broke the world record in the 800-meter run in London, and South African swimmer Chad le Clos, who beat his hero Michael Phelps in the 200-meter fly.

Others in the film: British track cyclist Laura Trott, Albanian judo player Majlinda Kelmendi, Irish boxer Katie Taylor, U.S. boxer Queen Underwood, Chinese diver Qui Bo, Indian pistol shooter Henna Sidu and French sprinter Christophe Lemaitre.
