London — We’re a half hour into the Closing Ceremonies and so far it’s been great, featuring the London Symphony Orchestra, Madness playing “Our House,” Pet Shop Boys playing “West End Girls,” One Direction playing “What Makes You So Beautiful.” Ray Davies of the Kinks did a beautiful job on “Waterloo Sunset.”
Now the athletes have entered the stadium with all the exuberance common to the Closing Ceremonies, in contrast to the rigidity of the Opening Ceremonies. This is cool.
